This position is responsible for overseeing the organization’s computer systems and networks to ensure proper maintenance and security. Duties include working with other IT staff and company employees to identify network or computer system needs, oversee the installation and upgrade of existing and new hardware or software, while using employee feedback to isolate issues. Additionally, the role requires a solid understanding of how to administer various firm critical applications to maximize uptime and availability.

A Network Administrator has many duties and responsibilities specific to their job. These might change based on the needs of the moment, but will need to adhere to the overall department ethos and industry standards. The typical duties and responsibilities of a Network Administrator may include:

• Maintaining computer networks and systems including software, various applications, desktop support relief, route/switch and other logical/physical hardware
• Installing and configuring network equipment to update or fix hardware or software issues
• Monitoring computer systems to improve network performance for computer systems and networks
• Leading and participating in regularly scheduled maintenance windows
• Communicating networking issues to other employees and management
• Fixing software and hardware configuration issues
• Assist in maintaining healthy backups w/monthly testing
• Coordinating with SME’s and other vender related partners associated with the firm
• Knowledge of networking services and common networking protocols
• The candidate must have the ability to learn and adapt to new applications and platforms
• Required to have sound judgement and critical thinking abilities when dealing with outage scenarios and timely responses to requests
• Establishing regular inventory updates
• Manage capacity planning steps
• Trains by example and through documentation to junior positions
• Documenting all device changes and current operational status
• Maintains Virtual infrastructure components
• Administers disaster recovery tasks
• Manage enterprise directory services and supporting server infrastructure
• Maintain up-to-date critical security patches and antivirus updates.
• Building and maintaining operating systems, firm and client driven applications
• Reconciling software licenses with deployed equipment
• Repairing and building of hardware
• Ensures delivery of quality work on preset deadlines
• Maintain support for remote infrastructure
• Maintain standards and quality of branch capabilities
• Working with departments towards maximizing technology related procedures
• Prepping and deactivating higher level functions of employee accounts and equipment
• Providing stellar customer service in both oral and written communication
• Other assignments, as needed

Education/Certification Requirements:
• 5+ years of network administration experience, required
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, systems engineering or network administration, preferred
• Microsoft, VMware, Cisco and other certifications, preferred

Candidate will be required to successfully pass a background and drug screening prior to employment.
