HISTORY

Wilson & Associates was founded by Robert M. Wilson, Jr. in 1978. Robby, as he was known, worked as a general practitioner in business law but his interests soon gravitated to real estate related work.

The 70’s saw the emergence of what would become modern mortgage banking. Heretofore, home loans were made by the local savings & loan institutions like in “It’s a Wonderful Life”. The secondary market for home loans was blossoming and it so happened that the second largest national mortgage banking company, Modern American Mortgage, was located in Little Rock. Robby connected with this company and modeled his law practice as one that could perform default services in conformity with national requirements being set by emerging mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

With this relationship formed for work in Arkansas, Modern American sought Robby’s advice for default legal work across the country. Robby recognized the need for a national network of mortgage banking attorneys. As a result he and others formed the USFN which became a network of attorneys in all 50 states. The USFN is today still known as the go-to source for mortgage bankers legal needs nationwide.

The firm expanded into Tennessee in the mid 90’s and into Mississippi in 2013. Since Robby’s illness and death in 2012, the firm has been under the leadership of Jennifer Wilson-Harvey, and today, Jillian Wilson and Robert M. Wilson, III are continuing the Wilson legacy as co-managing partners. The firm has expanded its legal service offerings, but remains true to its roots in mortgage banking services.

Today, The Wilson Law Group and its affiliates offer a wide variety of legal services, maintaining the same values upon which the organization was built.
